Local's Favorite Places to Eat in Grand Teton

Signal Mountain Lodge - Grand Teton National Park

1. Nachos on the deck at Signal Mountain Lodge

I cannot think of a more scenic location to enjoy nachos and their famous blackberry margarita then from the deck at Signal Mountain Lodge.  Overlooking Jackson Lake and the Signal Mountain Marina, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Teton Range.  I’d recommend combining this with an afternoon on Jackson Lake by renting a canoe, kayak, run about, deck cruiser, or fishing boat.  Make your reservation early as they book up!

Jenny Lake Lodge

2. Dinner under the Cathedral Group at Jenny Lake Lodge

Step back in time and enjoy the nostalgia of dining at Jenny Lake Lodge.  All the big boys in travel reviews have ranked this jewel at the top of their list.  Originally a dude ranch, today its combines magical views with an elegant five-course meal. The drive up from the town of Jackson is generally a “wildlife tour” in and of  itself as the animals come out during the late afternoon.  You'll then arrive for a dinner under the Cathedral group of the Tetons, a not-to-miss evening experience.  Also, it is the only place in Jackson Hole where a dinner jacket is suggested (they have loaners!).

Dornans Chuckwagon - Grand Teton National Park

3. Chuckwagon Breakfast at Dornan’s

The best way to start your day in Grand Teton is first having the chuckwagon breakfast at Dornan’s.  For more than 75 years, it’s been a landmark for a hot meal as you head into Grand Teton and Yellowstone National parks.  The all-you-can-eat sourdough pancakes are a favorite and the views will have you daydreaming before your park adventures even begin. After breakfast you can also pick up lunch in their deli, featuring huckleberry delicacies and gourmet cheeses.

Jackson Lake Lodge - Blue Heron Lounge - Grand Teton National Park

4. The Blue Heron at Jackson Lake Lodge

John D. Rockefeller, Jr. did a lot of good for the parks and the Blue Heron sits just hundreds of yards away from lunchtree hill where he was sold on the idea of preserving Jackson Hole in 1926 by Horace Albright, the superintendent of Yellowstone National Park. You can experience that same inspiration that moved Rockefeller sitting at the Blue Heron enjoying the broad views over Willow Flats and the seeing the entirety of the Teton Range.

Leeks Marina Pizzeria - Grand Teton National Park

5. Leeks Marina and Pizzeria on the shore of Jackson Lake

Located on the northern end of Jackson Lake, locals know it to be a great stop by car or boat for pizza, ice cream and some local microbrews. Enjoy eating inside or outside on the deck as you watch boats come and go from the marina.  It’s a local hot spot and not well known as its tucked off the highway into Yellowstone.  It’s also your last food option as you head into Yellowstone or your first option as you exit. See the menu | Map It
