Visit Old Faithful and Stay at the Inn The park's most recognizable and popular attraction, Old Faithful shoots boiling water into the air every hour to hour-and-a-half. But the landmark Old Faithful Inn, a log-framed inn with a seven-story lobby, is also worth seeing. Stop in for a snack or stay overnight.
Be Wowed at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone At 10,000 years old, more than 20 miles long and 1,000 feet deep, the views are nothing short of breathtaking. Stop at Inspiration Point to see both the canyon and the dramatic Lower Falls waterfall.
Take a Ranger-Led Hike Catering to varied skill levels and interests, ranger-led hikes allow park visitors to get close to wildlife habitat, thermal areas and wilderness areas only accessible on foot. Details on hikes can be found in the newspaper given to visitors at the entrance gates.
View Bears and Wolves The park's two most sought-after wildlife sightings can't be guaranteed, but your chances improve by looking in the right spots. For bears, try the Mount Washburn area, Hayden Valley and in the general vicinity of Fishing Bridge; wolves are most often seen in the Lamar Valley between Mammoth and Cooke City.
Tour the Park in a Snowcoach Enjoy the winter scenery in the warmth and comfort of a tread-tired mini-bus. You'll see bison, thermal pools, and rolling hills of untouched snow.
