Welcome to Barker-Ewing River Trips in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming, home of Grand Teton National Park and neighboring Yellowstone National Park.  We offer a variety of relaxing Scenic Float Trips, exciting Whitewater Adventures and even a fun-filled combination of both on the famous Snake River.

We are a family-owned and – operated river outfitter that has been guiding trips down the Snake River in Jackson Hole since 1963. We hope to bring you the most positive and memorable experience in one of the most spectacular places of the West.

Our Scenic Float Trips offer a calm water, relaxing experience, giving you the opportunity to take in breathtaking panoramic views of the Tetons and providing good bird and wildlife sightings. Our Whitewater Adventures offer an exciting, fun-filled trip for all ages through the Grand Canyon of the Snake River. For the best of both worlds, join us on one of our popularScenic/Whitewater Combination trips.

Join The Hole Hiking Experience, Barker-Ewing River Trips and Teton Mountain Bike Tours for an excursion you won’t forget!  You will explore spectacular scenery with a local naturalist; raft the Grand Canyon of the Snake River with an overnight stay at our exclusive river camp and bike beneath the majesty of the Tetons. 

Itinerary:

Day 1:
Pick-up at 8am at the Home Ranch parking lot by The Hole Hiking Experience.  Explore with a naturalist to learn about the wildlife, the magnificent flowers and the ecology of Jackson Hole.  Enliven your senses as you discover nature. Lunch, snacks, water, field guides, binoculars and equipment are all provided.  Back to the meeting area by 2pm in time to gather your belongings and meet up with Barker-Ewing River Trips at 945 W. Broadway by 3pm for your Overnight River Adventure.  Enjoy an 8-mile scenic float in the upper reaches of the Snake River Canyon to our exclusive river camp.  Once there, you will have time to relax, enjoy a delicious dinner and tell tales by the campfire, nestling yourself in our cozy tent cabins to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the river…

Day 2:
After a hearty breakfast, you will continue through the Grand Canyon of the Snake River.  Plan to get wet!  Downstream rapids like Three Oar Deal, Big Kahuna, Lunch Counter, Ropes and Champagne are waiting to greet you.  Upon return to town, you will have time for lunch on your own before meeting back at the Home Ranch Parking Lot by 2pm to join Teton Mountain Bike Tours for a Scenic Bike Tour in Grand Teton National Park. Your bike ride uses the less traveled roads on the eastern side of the park and offers a great opportunity to see wildlife in their natural setting while providing you with breathtaking views of the entire Teton Mountain Range. You will travel at a relaxed pace with several rest breaks along the route, presenting an opportunity to test your guide’s knowledge on all you have learned about the area.  You’ll have time to snap photos of the Tetons too!  The ride's terrain is relatively flat with a total distance of 8 to 10 miles. Teton Mountain Bike Tours will provide you with a mountain bike, helmet, gloves and a free water bottle. You will return to town by 6:00 pm.

All reservations require full prepayment at time of booking.  All prepayments are fully refundable provided our office receives notice of change or cancellation at least one week prior to your initial departure, or if we cancel due to extreme weather.

THE ‘HOLE’ BOAT

From the mountains to the river, enjoy a morning hike and an afternoon whitewater.  A 'Hole' spectrum of fun!  Spend the morning exploring this unique ecosystem with a naturalist, then off to the Grand Canyon of the Snake River for an afternoon of whitewater.  After your naturalist educates you on the wildlife, ecology and geological history of Jackson Hole, you will quench your thirst on the rapids that await! 

A perfect day: hike in the cool morning hours and float in the warm afternoon sunshine.

Broadway by 1:15pm for your 8-mile Whitewater Adventure in an 8-man boat.  Plan to get wet!  Downstream rapids like Three Oar Deal, Big Kahuna, Lunch Counter, Ropes and Champagne are waiting to greet you.  You will return to town by 5:30pm.

WATER AND WILDLIFE

Explore Jackson Hole by road and river!  Spend the morning learning about Grand Teton National Park’s history and place in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem, all while observing the valley’s wildlife and the park’s breathtaking vistas.  Then, enjoy a late afternoon scenic float trip offering panoramic views of the Tetons and dinner cookout at our exclusive riverside camp.  There is no better way to experience the wilderness of Jackson Hole than a morning wildlife expedition and a late afternoon scenic float along the Snake River.

Early morning pick-up in Jackson at the Home Ranch Public Parking lot on the corner of Cache/Gill streets by Brushbuck Guide Services. Discover Grand Teton National Park with an experienced guide to view and learn all about the wildlife and Jackson Hole’s numerous vistas.  Snacks, refreshments, binoculars, spotting scopes and rain gear are all provided.  Return to the meeting area by late morning.  After an afternoon of free time to eat lunch, shop for souvenirs or simply sightsee around town, gather your belongings and meet up with Barker-Ewing River Trips at 945 W. Broadway by 3:15pm for your 13-mile South Park Scenic Float Trip with Dinner Cookout. Wear layers as it gets cooler in the evening, and bring a camera for more spectacular photo opportunities. You will return to town by 8:30pm.
