Downhill and cross-country skiing are epic here in Jackson Hole, but if you want to add a little more fun to your day with another classic winter outdoor activity, ice skating in Jackson Hole is also memorable in its own little way.

Wintertime in Jackson Hole brings the old-fashioned fun of ice skating to several outdoor rinks in town with unique settings—such as on Town Square and in Teton Village—as well as inside at the Snow King Sports & Event Center at the base of Snow King Mountain.

All outdoor skating is $5, with the only cost being skate rentals ($18) if you don't have your own. Teton County Park and Rec skating is free, anytime.

Teton Village Rink on the Commons

The Village Rink on the Commons at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is one of Teton Village's "funner" activities. Olympic ice skating medalist Nancy Kerrigan sprinkled a bit of skating magic across its ice during a recent ski trip here! After a day on the slopes, this ice skating rink is super convenient for you and your family to keep the fun going.

Hours: Skating is $5 anytime, 7 days a week if you have your own skates. It is manned Monday through Friday 4:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m. Rentals ($18) are available in the warming hut by the rink.

Ice Skating on the Jackson Hole Town Square

Rink on the Town Square

"Winter Wonderland" (pictured above) is the perfect name for this enchanting skating pond located literally on Jackson Hole's Town Square, surrounded by the four famous elk antler arches. When the sun goes down, the twinkling lights on the arches create a true winter wonderland atmosphere indeed.

Hours: Skating is $5, 7 days a week if you have your own skates. The rink is manned from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday and noon to 9 p.m. on weekends. Free hot chocolate and skate rentals ($18) are available in the Stage Stop building.
