Jackson Hole Weekly Weather Tips

It's off-season in Jackson Hole — so relatively quiet — and temperatures are fickle, ranging from highs in the 60s and sunny, down to lows in the 40s with a good chance of rain and/or snow showers.

Instead of relying on the default weather app on your smartphone, we recommend using our local resource, mountainweather.com. Every morning year-round, Jackson Hole meteorologist Jim Woodmencey interprets the local weather patterns to create a forecast, offering an informed sense of what to expect so you can plan and dress accordingly.

We lovingly pair this weekly Jackson Hole Weather Guide with a few favorite Jackson Hole Calendar of Events to make your planning a breeze.

THIS WEEKEND:  Calle Mambo — the only premier Afro-Cuban, Latin and Salsa band in the Rocky Mountain Region — will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, the 18th, at the Silver Dollar Bar. And on Saturday, there is the Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Town Square starting at 10 a.m., promptly! Grab a bag or basket for the kids and head over for the egg hunt and mingle with the Easter Bunny and other favorite characters. And, speaking of Easter, The Bistro in The Cloudveil and the Silver Dollar Bar and Grill in the Wort Hotel have special Easter brunch menus for you to delight your taste buds.

DON'T MISS: The Pond Skim at Grand Targhee Resort at noon on April 19th. It is the most prestigious alpine Pond Skim ever, where skiers and riders skip, slide and "swim" across the ice-cold pond near the Targhee base area. Spectators are welcome to check out the event from the bottom of the course.

The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is closed for the off-season but will reopen on April 25th, just in time to kick off its annual Million Dollar Music Fest.

Traveler Tip: Uniquely explore Grand Teton National Park during April. A 14-mile section of Teton Park Road between the Taggart Lake trailhead and Signal Mountain Lodge is open for non-motorized recreation. This road is car-free, allowing visitors to walk, run, bike, skate, and rollerblade. The road will re-open to vehicles on May 1, weather permitting.
