While Jackson Hole skiing, you've chosen steeps and deeps, or bowls and glades. Maybe tackled a couple of black diamonds, or mastered several green and blue runs. And now your stomach is ready to tackle the task of refueling for an afternoon of more skiing goodness. Luckily for you, there are plenty of choices for food and atmosphere.
The following 8 great places to grab lunch are listed here in alphabetical order. If you’re here skiing for a week, you can hit different Teton Village restaurants each day of your winter vacation!
Alpenhof
The Alpenhof’s history goes back to the very beginning of Teton Village, which in 1965 first established Jackson Hole as a big-mountain destination ski resort, with an Aerial Tram to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. Located next to that tram, this Swiss alpine-style bar and restaurant has a distinctly Bavarian beer selection and menu and is Jackson's only spot to order fondue. Menu items include bison chili, burgers (including a fondue burger!), veal bratwurst, hearty soups and salad, among other tummy-warming items. Opens at 11 a.m.
Bar Enoteca
Open for lunch only on the weekends, Bar Enoteca is a year-old small plate bar and après experience located inside Hotel Terra with easy slopeside access directly from the Village Commons. The vibrant atmosphere is perfect for weary skiers! The culinary team prepares simple, yet delightfully refined, European-style dishes from the open kitchen. The menu is sparse but delicious — try the mojama (salt-cured tuna) with Marcona almonds, rabbit rillettes on a toast point and fromage de tete (a pate made from artisan meats). Opens at 11:30 a.m.
The Handle Bar
Located slopeside in the Four Seasons Hotel and Resort, the Handle Bar is a pretty sought after lunch, après ski and dinner spot. The outside terrace includes heated lamps and enviable views of all the action, so try and get there early to snag a good table. The inside dining room is equally as lovely and beyond cozy. The signature dish is The Handle Burger, featuring caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, smoked blue cheese, and truffle aioli. Soups, salads, pub faves and the proverbial more are also on the menu. Opens at 11 a.m.
Mangy Moose
Lunch is served in two locations at the iconic Mangy Moose: the Mangy Moose Cafe (in the belly of the Moose, as we like to call it) and in the infamous Mangy Moose Saloon. The budget-friendly lunch menus have a variety of local, Wyoming raised beef burgers, buffalo and elk burgers, sandwiches and salads. All food items are created from scratch and locally-sourced as much as possible. You’ll definitely get a kick out of the Saloon’s decidedly eclectic décor hanging from the ceiling and walls. Lunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Osteria
Fuel up for the second half of your day on the slopes with house-made pasta, oven-fired pizza, and other delectable Italian dishes at Il Villaggio Osteria. Situated inside Hotel Terra, Osteria is a little piece of Italy in western Wyoming. It features a salumi bar, seasonal salads and imported meats and cheeses from the world’s finest purveyors. Try the pomegranate brussels sprouts; an adventure for your palate and a reward for shushing the black diamond runs. Opens at 11:30 a.m.
Piste Mountain Bistro
Take the Bridger Gondola to 9,095' and enjoy not only seasonal dishes as part of Piste’s Rocky Mountain cuisine, but also a view of the entire valley of Jackson Hole. A cheery fire burns in the entryway, which opens into a friendly bar scene with floor-to-ceiling windows. The restaurant serves locally sourced dishes with an upscale twist; the menu is mouthwatering! Once you’ve satisfied your appetite, simply strap on your skis outside the door and keep playing in the powder. Opens at 11 a.m.
RPK3
Here’s an option for skiers to savor a fast, casual lunch, partake of a fun après scene and everything in between. RPK3 is built into the Aerial Tram dock and therefore surrounded by some serious skiing vibes. With a menu that will satisfy each type of skier and rider, there’s a mix of healthy comfort food for mountainous appetites. Offering a very Western-modern decor with a large fireplace as a centerpiece, RPK3 aims to please. Opens at 11 a.m.
Yardsale
Yardsale, located in the Snake River Lodge and Spa, is the latest après option in Teton Village. It offers an extensive beer menu, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. The bites menu includes soft pretzel bites, après nachos, the "Tram Taco" and roasted vegetable and farro salad, among other mouthwatering items.
Bonus lunch spot: Located next to the Aerial Tram, Southcable is a casual lunch destination (its breakfast burritos are a special treat, too, though) featuring a state-of-the-art pizza oven. In addition to pizza are salads sure to satiate your rumbling tummy. A Yelp reviewer says it all: "This was the best fast cafe when we ate a quick lunch at Jackson Hole. You can even eat for under $10! Southcable opens at 7 a.m.
