For almost 60 years, the Mangy Moose in Teton Village has pretty much been synonymous with Jackson Hole. While known for our skiing, hiking and nearby national parks, no trip to Jackson Hole is complete without going to “The Moose” for dinner or drinks. Located at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the funky, nearly 30,000-square foot Mangy Moose building is a one-stop dining, musical entertainment and food shopping marvel.
Something For Everybody
Four-stories tall, the Mangy Moose houses two restaurants, a saloon, a small grocery store with wine emporium and two gift shops. If you’re staying in Teton Village, you’ve got a very handy and affordable place to eat breakfast, lunch and/or dinner, enjoy an après ski or hike beverage, pick up a sandwich, a bottle of wine and tube of toothpaste, plus a souvenir T-shirt while you’re at it!
But the Mangy Moose is a big draw even for those visitors who aren’t booked into lodging in Teton Village. And locals love it for all the reasons!
Affordable, Family-Friendly Food
The main restaurant is an authentic Western steakhouse ideal for families, offering reasonably priced meals. A casual atmosphere marked by a decidedly eclectic décor hanging from the ceiling and walls (think vintage road signs and posters, antique bicycles and tools, a small bi-plane), the eatery features a diverse menu of items locally sourced as much as possible. Entrees range from native trout and prime rib (a popular item), to elk and bison and grilled lamb gyro. Appetizers run the gamut from classic Buffalo wings to the deliciously decadent parmesan truffle fries.
An economical and yummy breakfast can be had in the café.
Open for breakfast and lunch, the Taqueria Paciano Café is located one floor below the main dining room with a menu that is half American and half Mexican. For breakfast, feast on bacon and eggs, pancakes, huevos rancheros or the made-from-scratch pastries. Lunch selections range from fish and steak tacos to sandwiches and house-made soups.
Grab 'n go items are also available and there is a barista on site.

Mangy Moose Saloon
Like the Mangy Moose Restaurant, the Moose’s Saloon is a sight to behold in terms of the impressive collection of memorabilia and paraphernalia, including the hilarious spectacle of a taxidermic moose suspended from the ceiling.
The venue is family-friendly until 10 p.m.
Given its location at the bottom of the ski mountain, it should come as no surprise that the Saloon is world-renowned for its après ski scene. The saloon is also a favorite summer après spot after you spend time biking, hiking and recreating in the village and on the mountain. There's a lively entertainment schedule seven days a week from local musicians both during and beyond the après ski hours and throughout the summer. Ticketed concerts are also presented. Some amazing national bands have taken to the little Mangy Moose Saloon stage, such as Little Feat, Jason Aldean, Blues Traveler and Brandi Carlile, and during summer 2022, more national acts are coming to perform, such as Hayes Carll on July 20th.
In addition to cocktails (try their signature spicy margarita or the Moose Mule, made with Mangy Moose Vodka, fresh lime juice and Bundaberg ginger beer), enjoy lunch or dinner in the bar area or out on the deck, where you’ll have a great view of the mountain.
Jackson's Top apres ski bar
Mangy Moose Market & Cellars is keeping the party going with the release of its new signature canned Mangy Moose Spicy Marg in a convenient four-pack, in addition to its signature Vodka. Crack a chilled Mangy Moose Spicy Marg and drink straight from the can or pour over ice. No matter where it’s enjoyed this summer or winter, the Mangy Moose Spicy Marg has just the right spice and delicious citrusy flavor with a splash of sweetness that’s made it a (secret) saloon staple for years.
The Mangy Moose Market and Cellars
For visitors staying in Teton Village, the Mangy Moose Market and Cellars is an extremely convenient place to pop into and pick up all manner of food items and sundries, even dog food! The New York Times can also be purchased here. But it is more than just a “convenience store”—it’s actually a full-on market. Inside you’ll not only find the basics such as milk, eggs and bread, but also fresh produce, a wide selection of cheeses, sandwiches, complete gourmet dinners, frozen elk steaks, desserts and the proverbial “more!”
Stock up on supplies for your condo or grab some snacks to take back to your hotel room.
The wine shop features a staggering 325 wines at prices that are surprisingly reasonable for a little market, and the easy on the pocket pricing holds true for grocery items, too. Market and Cellars has a new line of Mangy Moose apparel as does the recently renovated Mangy Moose Store.
In addition to the eclectic and dynamic wine selection, private wine buying for large parties and events is offered. Speak to Kevin in the Market and Cellars to get you the best wine at great prices for your special event.
Bottom line: The Mangy Moose is one big building, with many reasons to go inside.
FUN FACT: According to owner David Yoder, there have been at least a dozen marriages between Mangy Moose employees over the years. It should also be noted that the establishment has a longtime, loyal staff on board. Ten years is the average amount of time bartenders have been serving libations; the manager has been at the helm for 25!
